Your Body and Your Emotions

how YOUR BODY, ATTENTION, and emotions work together

Emotions are both conceptual and sensory

When you stand on your own two feet, there are two types of safety your body seeks:

Balance to protect your brain from injury.
Safety and confidence to protect your heart from injury.

One is practical, the other is emotional.
You can learn what it takes to refine the practical so it can support the emotional.

But instead, we often reach to just harden or disconnect from the emotional when we don’t have a better option.

You attribute meaning to your sensory experience of the moment in your very personal way.
Your emotions are based on your personal history.

Standing and walking, however, are mundane and necessary and based on human evolution.
These are baseline skills that you have as a human standing on Earth.

This is the better option.

The skillfulness with which you do these things can secure your emotional experience of the world.

In this workshop, you’ll learn to

+ deconstruct the emotional embodied experiences that limit you
+ reconnect to the moment so you can switch into desired actions
+ organize your thinking around your feelings in a framework that empowers you

I just had an incredible shift. I felt my whole personal self, that I own myself.
My body doesn’t feel left out anymore. It’s kind of revolutionizing really. My body really is happy to be included in my life.
Sitting in that column - it’s been a resource that is almost unfathomable. It’s a different sort of power for me. There’s like a safe energy in my body that I can actually have my psyche inhabiting while other layers are shifting around in their sometimes super chaotic ways. It’s been really fun and it’s been really helpful.”
